W. J. Watt & Company; (1912). First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. First edition, "Published January" on copyright page, precedes the UK edition. Very good with no dust jacket. Dark brown/black cloth with gilt lettering and oval paste-on pictures of the title characters on the front board, and gilt lettering on the spine. The spine lettering is slightly dulled, and there is a bit of wear to the cloth at the top of the spine. The front endpaper is clipped at the top right corner and the cloth at the tip of the lower front corner is a little worn. Illustrations by Will Grefe. Frontispiece illustration with tissue guard; interior pages are bright and clean; four full page illustrations, hinges are tight. A square, clean copy with no names or other marking.
