About This Item

Athens, GA: University of Georgia Press, 1967. fair to good, fair to good. 254, notes, bibliography, index, pencil marginal markings to a few pages, pencil numbers inside rear board. Inscribed by the author. Weakness to front board, DJ in plastic sleeve, DJ somewhat soiled and worn, small pieces missing to DJ edges. This survey of the Presidential veto power from George Washington through Franklin D. Roosevelt provides a study in the use of the veto and illustrates, somewhat paradoxically, that most of the major bills which initially fell before a Presidential veto have ultimately become law.
