BD6 - A tight, clean, sound copy quarter bound in black cloth with green cloth covered boards with gold lettering on the spine and a blind-stamped graphic on the front with very minor overall shelf plus there is some very light yellowing on the outside paper edges. The dust jacket shows moderate overall shelf wear plus there is some light edge wear along the top and bottom edges that is heavier with chipping along the spine bottom edge plus there are two tiny (less than 0.25") closed tears along the front bottom edge, one closed tear (about 0.5") on the front top edges, and and closed tear (about 0.25") on the back at the top left corner. This book was published to coincide with the 25th anniversary of Norman Cousins' editorship of the 'Saturday Review.' It is a chronicle of those years in the form of a selection of the author's essays and articles from the magazine. The period covered runs from World War II and the early post-war years into the tumult of the Vietnam War era. The first part of the book tells the story of the magazine from its founding in 1924. The second section consists of the selected editorials and articles from the magazine. Indexed, 679p. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
