Containing seven essays, the first four of which deal with opposing interpretations of the poem "Out of the Cradle Endlessly Rocking"; the three remaining essays discuss Whitman's critical reception and influence during his lifetime and beyond. No previous ownership marks. A clean, tight, and unmarked copy in a nice jacket but for publication date written vertically on lower spine. Very good+ in a still very good dust-jacket. .
