Los Angeles, CA: National Schools, 1948-1950 and some n.d. Illustrated by line drawings, photographs and reproductions, throughout with laid in diagram Lesson 17. unspecified edition. 93 volumes. Over 8 lb (10cm high) of 2-hole punched stapled pamphlets, with original limp burgundy blindstamped covers which have been reinforced in-house by KTB with stiff acid free davey board and backed with washable burgundy cloth bound with original black cotton 'shoe lace' which can be retied to open flat when reading. Signed by TSL laid in from L. W. Krueger, Chief Instructor dated April 18, 1950 to obtain A National School Sticker. 4to (27x20x10,cm). pp. 1-26 pages each. Very Good/In like covered boards. Pamphlets have rusted staples, a handful of pages have wormhole edges which have been repaired with Neschen tape, overall toning, some light soil. Lessons are followed by examination questions and other pamphlets have co-founder J. A. Rosendranz quotes on rear covers. There are some missing in sequence below so make sure you note before you buy. The firs US self study trade school, National Schools was founded in 1905 by Joseph and Vrena Rosenkranz and moved about 3 times in down town Los Angeles, CA the first course being automobile mechanics at $25.00 per student. Other trade courses were added including this and in late 1959 there was a name change to National Technical Schools. United Education Software bought NTS in 1985 and in 1989 UES declared bankruptcy. Collection contains Lessons No. 1 (The Electron)-20, 33-58 (Signal Tracing); Mathematics No. 4; Transmitters, Lessons No. T-1-18; Amplifying Systems Lessons No. AS-1-10; Commercial Circuit Diagrams for General Electric, RCA Victor, Sears Roebuck & Co. (Silvertone), Phillips, Admiral, Zenith, Philco, Emerson; Practical Radio Job Sheet No. 1-10, No. 16-17, 20-35 ; The Research Digest No. 1, 3-5; Business Lesson No. 1..
