The complete set is in fair condition, displaying wear, chipping, and minor tears throughout. However, the internal content remains in very good condition. <br /> <br /> The first edition of an in-depth historical analysis of the Ukrainian military deployments to Kyiv and Odesa in 1919, offering valuable insights into the lesser-known aspects of Ukrainian military history from 1917 to 1921.<br /> <br /> A recent sale of the second edition, published in the Displaced Persons camps, fetched $900.<br /> <br /> Mykola Kapustianskyi (1879-1969) was a prominent Ukrainian military and political figure, serving as a general in the Ukrainian People's Army. His military career included participation in the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905 and a role as Colonel in the General Staff of the Russian Army during World War I. In August 1919, he led operational units during the joint campaign of the Army of the Ukrainian People's Republic and the Ukrainian Galician Army to Kyiv and Odesa.<br /> <br /> Following the conclusion of the Liberation events of 1917-1921, Kapustianskyi was interned at the Polish camp Lantsut. He subsequently resided in Poland and later in Paris from 1923 onwards. In France, he played an active role in the Ukrainian community, establishing the Ukrainian People's Union (later known as the National Union) in 1932. Kapustianskyi was also a founding member and key figure in the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists.<br /> <br /> After World War II, he lived in Germany, where he was appointed as the Minister of Military Affairs of the Ukrainian People's Republic Government in exile in July 1948. Mykola Kapustianskyi passed away and was laid to rest in Munich, Germany.
