New York: Worthington Co., 1890. Decorative Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket. 7 3/4" X 5 1/4. Introduction by Charles Dickens to whom AAP submitted poems as Miss Mary Berwick. Frontispiece is steel engraving of author and carries her signature and salutation," yours verytruly[sic] Adlaide A. Procter" This engraving also served that purpose in 'Legends and Lyrics' . Book is dedicated to Matilda M. Hays and dedication is dated May, 1858. All pages are red boxed, and all edges are gilt. Stated 'Complete Edition' twice on full title. Book divisions: Legends and Lyrics. A Book of Verses. First Series; Legends and Lyrics. A Book of Verses. Second Series; A Chaplet of Verses. Tan boards, red, black and gilt decorated. 442 pp. plus 4 pp. of 'Worthington Company's New publications' Book is a little loose at hinges but all is attached. Corners are only very lightly scuffed and spine ends are rubbed, fon and date, 15 Apr 1892 at top of full title page. Book is tight and square. Bookseller's Inventory # 071153.
