An excellent first edition copy of this collection of poems by Robert Graves, noted British author, in its original dustwrapper. The first edition of this collection of poems by the celebrated author Robert Graves. In the original, unclipped dustwrapper. Containing titles such as 'Thief,' 'Saint,' 'Gardener,' 'Ship Master,' and plenty others. Six of those appeared in Poems 1914-1927 (out of print), a limited edition of one hundred copies published by William Heinemann; twenty four appeared in Poems 1929 (outofprint), a limited edition of two hundred and twenty five copies by The Seizin Press; nine in Ten poems More (our of print), a limited edition of two hundred copies by The Hour Press. The rest is first published in this volume. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally excellent with only minor shelfwear and minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Inscribed by a previous owner to the front free endpaper, dated 1945. The dustwrapper is sound with shelfwear and sunning to boards and spine. Vertical tear to the spine of the wrapper as well as the front flyleaf, tape repaired internally to the wrapper to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Unclipped. Internally, firmly bound. Minor faint scattered spotting to the fore edge, not affecting pages that are bright and clean. Spare spine label to the rear volume as called for. Near Fine
