NY: Barrow, 1820. 16mo, pp. x, 142. Bound in boards with paper label on spine. Joints tender and leaves little stained and foxed. A very good copy. Imprints 3046. Rogers (1763-1855) was born in Stoke-Newington, the son of a wealthy banker and first published this "Pleasures of memory" in 1792. He gathered a certain of fame for his work. His friend, Robert Merry, emigrated to the US with his actress wife Eliz. Brunton in 1796. He was well-known as a poet and dramatist. His "Pains of memory" was a versified reproduction of his talks with Samuel Rogers.
