printed for Otridge & Rackham, 1824. Book. Very Good. hardback. hardback, octavo, eight volumes of ten, lacking volumes II and X, each 7 1/4" x 4 1/4", quarter calf with marbled paper covered boards, black morocco labels to spine lettered gilt, simple repeat decoration to spine compartments, gilt dulled. Rubbed to extremities with some corners of boards knocked at tips, scattered browning but text generally clean, binding tight, text generally clean, portrait frontis to volume I. The text of the Steevens edition of 1765 is used throughout together with Dr Johnson's Preface and The Life by Mr Rowe. An attractive part set..
