Synges best known play was disapproved due to its bleak ending, depiction of Irish peasants, let rise to riots in Dublin during its opening run at Abbey Theatre 1907. CONDITION Brown bds with Japanese Vellum spine, Pp vii [2] 132. Light dust spotting to untrimmed page edges else bright and crisp as new. Original DJ is brittle and split in two panels, spine price clipped as is standard for colonial sales of the era. . Re-Issue. Hard Cover. Fine/Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
