About This Item

New York: Philip C. Duschenes, 1956. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. First American edition. Translated by William and Mary Roberts. Illustrated by Baltasar Lobo. Octavo. 159pp. Tiny bookseller ticket on front pastedown, offsetting on the flyleaves near the gutter else near fine in price-clipped, about very good dust jacket toned at the spine and folds (panels lightly so), modest soil and a small stain on the blank lower panel, several nicks and tiny tears and a short tear at the spine base. Jiménez was a prolific Spanish poet and writer as well as a 1956 Nobel laureate. Published by The University Texas Press the following year, the Duschenes edition appears to be much more uncommon.
