About This Item
Londonb: Methuen, 1933. 3rd Edition . Hardcover. Good-VG/No Jacket (none Issued?). Alfred E. Taylor. Decorated off-white boards, red cloth sp. with printed label; text-block cocked, clean but sp. somewhat faded and small chip to label ( replacement is however tipped into bottom gutter of last page) , outer corners rubbed, nevertheless remain quite attractive. xv + 150, small ill. drawings throughout; gutter opening before p.1, 1933-dated gift inscrip. top fr. end-paper, otherwise clean and unmarked. A humourous collection of short bon mots, satirical observations on all aspects of the topic, offering a glimpse into upper middle-class life and domestic concerns in 1930s. A minor piece of feminist ammunition I guess. 1st ed. 1931. 12 cm x 19 cm
