Garden City, NY: Doubleday, Doran & Company, Inc, 1929. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. About Fine/Very Good minus. Black cloth over boards, title and decorations stamped in red onto upper board and spine, 12mo (7-3/8 inches tall), stated first edition, pp. xix, [xxii], 234. Volume with one tiny tap to head of spine, text slightly toned, p.o. name and date (1933) ffep. Price-intact DJ is toned with fading to spine, a small chip at head of spine panel and a few closed tears. Front flap is 2/3 detached at lower flap fold and has a small "49" rubber-stamped near price at top. The autobiography of this prolific and justly famous writer. The "Books By..." page lists only 43 of his over than 170 novels, 10 of which were published by Doubleday Crime Club in 1929 alone! Credited DJ artwork by "pic
