About This Item
Jacksonville, FL, 1945. No Binding. Very Good. Charcoal pencil sketch of the bust of a young woman, seated and with her arms folded. Bion Barnett Jr., 1887-1965, was a Jacksonville artist, son of Florida banking mogul, Bion Hall Barnett, and uncle of author, Madeleine L'Engle. The subject of the sketch is unknown, though Barnett had exhibits at the Jacksonville Woman's Club, and YWCA for the American Association of University Women in 1945, so perhaps there is some relation there. On cheap notepad paper with perforation at top, tanned, and with a few edge tears and light soiling. Signed B. B. and dated Nov 5, 1945.
