About This Item
London: Henry S.King, 1873. 1st Edition . Green Stippled Cloth. Good+. 13 Cm X 19 Cm. xii+210+(2, pub.notices)+31 (Dec.1872 pub.cat, but last 2 leaves unopened and appear to be unpaginated). R.J.Cooter's pencilled sig.top fr,free endpaper otherwise internally clean, a little shaken, one leaf creased across top outer corner, v.faint hints of browning throughout but this not serious, fr.gutter v.sl.cracked; bevelled-edge covers printed in black & gilt, some rubbing to edges & exteremeties. A very scarce work apparently, although author search yields over 300 hits adding 'Pelican' reduces this to just one relating to book's presence in a library. Noble was admired as a writer by his contemporaries and best known for his 'The Sonnet in England and other Essays' (1893).
