Pastoral Loves of Daphnis and Chloe. Moore, George. Published by William Heinemann Ltd., London, 1924. Limited edition. No 343 of 1280, Signed and numbered by George Moore (translator). Errata slip tipped in at p. 113. Size 9¼" x 5½" 164 pages. Quarter ivory over beige cloth boards; gilt spine titles. Vignette illustrations after copperplates originally printed in 1714. Boards have light bumping and stains. Pages have stain top edge which progressively fades and ends about half way through the book; no other marks and without tears or folds. Hinge is cracked at page 129 although all pages remain firmly attached. A translation of Daphnis and Chloe by the 2nd century AD Greek novelist Longus.
