PANAMA CANAL ZONE - 15th AIR BASE PHOTO ALBUM 1939

by Henry A. Lorenz

  • Used
7.75" x 10.75" cloth bound photo album with a total of around 90 photos. Written on the front cover is "Prop. Of Henry A. Lorenz, 15th Air Base, Albrook Field, Canal Zone, Panama." A card with an image of a bird is attached to the inside front cover and says "Real bird feathers. Made in Panama City. This album and its contents is the property of Henry A. Lorenz. All pictures were taken by my friends or myself."

The photos inside are various sizes and are held to the page with corner tabs. Embossed onion skin pages separate each of the pages. The only date I see inside is from 1939. Around a dozen photos are missing from the page, and there are 8 detached photos tucked inside. Most of the album is annotated, and there are photos of the airfield, entertainment, natives, Rio Hato, Anton, near Balboa harbor, Panama City, 15th air base barracks, reptiles and snakes, straw huts, Zuk Village, airplanes, San Blas Island, etc.

A nice, identified album from the Canal Zone, before the start of World War II.
