About This Item
First edition, later printing, hardcover. Copyright 1897, New York. Overall condition is Good: boards show moderate patina, spine sunned, binding a little shaky in places but holding. Endpapers with ink gift inscription dated 1907. Some foxing, occasional smudges and old corner folds. Paginates: xi, [2], 274, [4 ads], with original blanks, 20 plates. Complete as issued. Please see images of the book you will receive. Notes: This book is notorious for missing plates. They were glued, not sewn in, and as a result after 120 years they occasionally fall out. If you are looking for a complete copy this is it. First editions have the date on title page. This edition does not have a date on title page making it a later printing.
