Early trade printing (not a book club), very good + black cloth hardcover shows touch of soil at page edges, name and stamp at top of front paste down and some other light trace wear including a word underlined at acknowledgements page, in very good dust jacket (price at flap) that shows rubbing and edge wear that includes short closed tears and a small open chip at spine tail. 849 pages with drawings by Rachel S. Horne. Still an attractive copy of this work that is edited by Borland and features writings on nature from the likes of Carson, Irving, Rawlings, Thoreau, Whitman and many, many more.
