This volume, Volume II, includes the following chapters: I. French Settlement of Louisiana and Spain's Renewed Interest in Texas, 1693-1714; II. The Permanent Occupation of Texas, 1715-1719; III. The Founding of San Antonio de Valero and the Expansion of Missionary Activity, 1716-1719; IV. The Aguayo Expedition and the Founding of San Jose Mission, 1719-1722; V. Reestablishment of Missions and the Founding of San Francisco Xavier de Najera and Espiritu Santo de Zuniga, 1721-1722; VI. The Organization of Mission Life, 1722-1731; VII.
