About This Item
Bathurst. Collectible - Very Good. Condition: Very Good +; 1783, 8vo, 5 volume set. All volumes full-bound in contemporary tree calf, with gilt decoration to spine and with marbled endpapers. Bindings are solid, text is clean throughout all volumes. Front and rear hinges on vol 1 and rear hinge on vol 4 have been mended with rice paper. All other hinges are fragile but holding. Leather and gilt on spines is starting to chip but all are still legible. Bookplate from Pull Court, Worcestershire, on pastedown in all volumes; also a label from Pull Court Library; and a signature from a T. Dowdeswell, probably Thomas Dowdeswell, a Colonel of the Guards who died in 1811. Without the list of subscribers and with state B of the Blake plate in vol. 3. Leather
