Original gilt and blindstamped dark brown morocco, spine with gilt stamped design of a palm tree and camel, covers with gilt stamped vignette of 3 men riding on an elephant, surrounded by blindstamped border of intertwined snakes, a.e.g. (rubbing to extremities). Very good. No foxing. Binder's ticked of F. Westley. Bookplate of H. Scofield and C.W. Nicolay, with Nicolay's ink signature dated 1835.
