Richard Bentley, 1885. Hardback. Bound in rubbed but sound brown cloth with gilt device and silk endpapers; there are small losses at the top of the spine. The endpapers bear the bookplate of Cecilia Codrington. There is some foxing to some of the plates, this has affected adjacent pages; there is some light edge foxing throughout.

Original brown cloth, gilt titling to the spine, gilt design to the front board. Binding somewhat rubbed, bookplate to the front pastedown, preliminary pages foxed, gift inscription. Overall, the book is in good condition. There is some foxing to the plates, but apart from the frontispiece and a couple of others the plates are cleaner in this copy than usual.
