1838. BROWN, John P. Old Frontiers: The Story of the Cherokee Indians from Earliest Times to the Date of their Removal to the West, 1838. Kingsport, TN: Southern Publishers, 1938. 1st ed. 8vo. I, [1], 570 pp., frontis., maps, plates. In orig. cloth with price-clipped d/j; all plates present as called for. Only light rubbing to the binding. Generally clean but for some minor foxing to the plates and adjacent leaves. Very good in a very good jacket, inscribed and signed by Brown on the front free endpaper. Decker 042-164. Fairly uncommon, particularly with dust jacket. Appendix A comprises a 24-page Cherokee vocabulary.
