(Sydney: Art in Australia: 1928) First Edition Pictorial wrappers pp. ii, 27 (text, plus a woodcut on p. 27) plus 55 plates, those in colour tipped in (252 x 192 mm) First Edition. Endpapers and edges foxed and scattered foxing to margins and blank areas of leaves throughout but illustrated not affected, and apart from that about fine.

Sydney: Art in Australia Ltd, 1928.. 1st edition. Stories of the history of Australian buildings, places, farms, etc accompanied by a tipped in colour frontispiece of Hartley and 6 further tipped in colour plates + 51 sepia etchings, drawings and woodcuts. Owner's name to front free endpaper, occasional very light spotting mainly affecting the closed page edges. Paper wraps with coloured woodcut to front, small edge tears and 2cm tear to top of spine. G+.** "Sydney George Ure Smith (9 January 1887�11 October 1949) was an Australian arts publisher and promoter who 'did more than any other Australian to publicize Australian art at home and overseas'...Unlike most of his contemporaries, he seldom submitted his work for publication.
