Viking Adult, 1949. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Second Printing before publication. From the private library of noted American poet William H. Matchett, with his name and the date on the ffep. 8vo. - measuring 6 in. x 9 in. 62 pp., with a deckled fore-edge. Cover and title page illustration by Shrimati Arnakali E. Carlile. A lovely copy in Very Good condition with minor age-staining to the boards and pages and just a touch of foxing on the top of the pages. The dust jacket is in Very Good condition with light toning throughout and slight edgewear. A story of verse, Godden revisited the legend of the flood with Pegasus, a character not usually included in the ark.
