About This Item
New York: Nicholas L Brown, 1920. 1st Edition 3rd Printing. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Third printing (February 1920) of the first edition (December 1919) of Gaugin's remarkable account of his life and work in Tahiti, as translated from the French by O F Theis. Lacks frontispiece portrait. Stock toned, but otherwise all in good internal order. Label of noted NY book store The Sunwise Turn to rear pastedown. Binding opening a little at front hinge, but all holding well. Brown paper-covered boards bumped, marked and worn. Likewise cream cloth spine with chipped a and darkened paper title label. About Dodman Books
Formerly Journobooks, my original speciality was books about journalism, journalists, newspapers and other media (hence the name) and I still have a good stock of hard-to-find books in that field. Over time I have added a wide and eclectic variety of other collectible volumes alongside a general secondhand stock. I am a collector as well as a seller so know all about the pitfalls of online buying as well as the joys. I will try to make your buying experience as easy and as pleasant as possible.
