London: Collins, 1945. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition. 8vo. pp. xiv, 368. 56 colour & 24 b/w illustrations and 9 diagrams. Dust jacket very good to near fine, bright, clean, jacket has been sitting on the book slightly off centre, now centred but light crease to the front turn in, very little fading to the spine, corners a little chipped, not price clipped, now protected in a clear removable archival sleeve. Green buckram boards with some fading. Contents clean and tight, name and date, 1945, in faded ink to the top of the front free endpaper. A very good book with a very good to near fine first edition jacket rarely seen in such bright colours. [Collecting the New Naturalist NN1].
