London: Hurst and Blackett, Publishers, 1867. Seventh Edition. Hardcover. 359; 369; 12pp. Octavo [23.5 cm] Blue cloth with embossed borders on the boards. Title and rules gilt stamped on backstrip. Good. The extremities are rubbed and gently bumped, and the spines are sunned and rolled. The spine ends have multiple splits and small losses. The splits have been neatly glued. The underlying boards are exposed at the corners. Mild staining to the boards. The pages and the tissue guards at the beginning are foxed. The books are sturdy. May require additonal postage due to weight. Dixon traveled extensively through the America with the intent of publishing a travelogue, as was popular at the time. This volume includes extensive coverage of his travel and stay in Utah, with his observations of Mormonism. Illustrated. Flake/Draper 2847.
