Arthur Barker Limited, London, 1964. Reprint. Hardcover. Good Condition (ex-library)/No Dust Jacket. Black coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. The story of a manhunt by Professor Karl Zweig, with an ex-commissioner of police and an amiable nutcase, who believes the English are one of the lost tribes of Israel. Their prey ? The Professor's former most brilliant student whom he now believes is a mass murderer. This book is an ex-library book:  the library has cut the front panel dustwrapper panel, and attached it to the front panel, and then covered the whole book in contact plastic. Library number to the top edge of the backstrip. Library sticker to the front paste-down and the library has supported both the front and rear hinges with a white coloured tape  which is still visible. On the rear paced-down is the library pocket and library stamp. Softening of the backstrip edges with bumping of the book corners. Cocking of the spine; age toning and stains to the textblock edges and pages. Offset tanning to the end pages and both the front and rear hinge have split, with the underlying webbing visible.
