London: Richard Bentley, 1849. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Account by naval officer W.F. Lynch, commander of the expedition to survey and document the Jordan River and the Dead Sea region. First English printing. Includes two fold-out maps. No writing, marks, underlining, or bookplates. Spine is tight and crisp. Boards are flat and true. Corners are square but do show some wear. There is some fading around the edges and along the spine of front and back cover. No dust jacket, but was not issued with one. This scarce, first edition/first printing copy is protected with an archival mylar dust jacket cover. Satisfaction guaranteed!
