New Orleans, Louisiana: Hope Publications, 1956. Soft cover. Very Good. History of the legendary "Voodoo Queen" of New Orleans, Marie Laveau (1801-1881), who showed up in Season 3 of "American Horror Story. Also contains folk tales in a lighter, more humorous vein that form part of the city's mysterious lore. In 96 pages, with scattered illustrations, Bibliography. First published in 1956, this is a later (undated reprint) c. 1960s, with zip code. Softcover 8vo (6" x 9") in bright yellow wrappers decorated to front cover in green, white, & red is in VG condition: virtually flawless inside, but with edgewear to exterior in the form of chipping along top of front cover, short vertical tear at lower edge near spine, light soil. Else, completely clean & bright, binding strong & straight, pages creamy white with a hint of tanning to edges. NO writing/underlining/highlighting; not ex-lib.
