The girls plan a huge welcoming party for Scottie at the railroad station, but Judy realizes that their plans were a mistake when she sees Scottie's reaction. Refers to The Trail of the Green Doll on front flap of DJ and sfep verso, refers to the forbidden chest at the end of the text, refers to Beverly Gray's Fortune on back of DJ. Condition notes: (vii), 215 numbered pp; HB w/DJ. Pages: clean, bright, tight, brown topstain, decorative cream/brown eps; a bit of toning to eps. Cover: brown tweed, black artwork and titles front, black titles spine; v lt shelfwear, extrems barely worn, shallow light scuff to front. DJ: unclipped, color artwork and red/white titles front, white spine with black titles; modest edge/shelfwear w/head tattered/chipped, tail a bit tattered, foxing to back, a few small/tiny closed tears. A nice copy.

Glossary
Some terminology that may be used in this description includes:
- Shelfwear
- Minor wear resulting from a book being place on, and taken from a bookshelf, especially along the bottom edge.
- Verso
- The page bound on the left side of a book, opposite to the recto page.
- Spine
- The outer portion of a book which covers the actual binding. The spine usually faces outward when a book is placed on a shelf....
- Tight
- Used to mean that the binding of a book has not been overly loosened by frequent use.
- Tail
- The heel of the spine.
