Author was chaplain to the lord bishop of Guiana and late rector of the parish of holy trinity, Essequibo. Browning and foxing of page edges and minor to endpapers. Tight binding with minor wear to upper and lower spine. Gilt tooling to cover and spine.

First edition, first printing hardcover, which is in fine condition. Dust jacket slows slightest shelf wear, and there is some yellowing of the pages around the edges, but the book binding is tight and clean. Signed and inscribed by author. Inscription reads, "To Richard Best Wishes."
