Collins, London, No date. Edition Unstated. Softcover (Stiff Boards). Very Good Condition. Illustrator: Illustrated. Pale blue mottled coloured endpages. Black-and-white illustrated frontispiece, and there are black-and-white illustrations throughout the two stories. Blue coloured textured stiffened card covers with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Blue coloured tint to the top text block edge. The author's reminiscences of his mother and father, trying to raise 12 children in poverty in Ireland in the middle part of the 20th century, and of the grace in which his mother coped with the vicissitudes of life. The second book is further reminiscences of the author's early life. Rubbing of the book edges and panels with some bumping of the corners. Tanning of the text block edges which also shows some marks. Age toning of the pages. There is a school prize plate fixed to the free front end page (and a little to the free front paste-down)  Mont Albert Central School  Girl Dux Prize dated 1942. Size: 16mo (very small).
