In 1888 a violent incident led to his imprisonment in Kilmainham Gaol. This is a Fine set of this Reprint Edition. Not common. The "Diaries" were first published in 1932. The reprinted publisher's note states this to be "a full and complete reprint of the much sought after London edition of 1919-1920." Bright red cloth binding, with gilt lettering on the spine and the Octagon symbol on the front cover. Preface by Augusta, Lady Gregory. Clean text. The CP refers to it as the "One Volume Edition ," and it includes a new Preface written by Augusta, Lady Gregory. Blue cloth binding, with black lettering on the spine. Clean text; 898 pages (indexed). Mildly bumped, and some light wear at the corners. This is a solid volume, but there are spots on the covers that suggest some solvent having splattered them at some time in the past.
