New York: Phoenix Press, 1945. Cloth. Good/No Jacket. Light olive cloth. No jacket. 256 pp. SIGNED by the author with date and a short inscription indicating this was the author's copy. A hard-boiled detective/mystery story set in Boston, Massachusetts and following the exploits of private detective Duke McCale. GOOD condition. Heavy browning to the cloth along the extremities and spine. Minor soiling, with several spots of staining to the front and rear cover. Minor scuffing. Extremities bumped, with some fraying to the cloth at the corners and spine tips. Interior solid. Moderate browning to the paper. A few old tape scars along the fore edge of the inside front cover.
