New York: Alfred A Knopf, 1949. Nice copy of of his first Lew Archer novel and basis for the film "Harper". First edition stated on copyright page. Unmarked, tight and square. Tannish boards with dark blue lettering and design are clean and fresh. One tip lightly bumped. Bright red topstain still fresh. Price intact jacket is bright and without fade to any of the red used so prominently on this book but light wear along top edge with two short closed tears. In mylar. . First American Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine to Fine/Very Good Plus to Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
