About This Item
* The Most of John Held, Jr. - Some artists, writers, and actors do one thing so well, so perfectly and essentially for its moment, that they are condemned to live in its particular shadow for the rest of their years. With time, their other achievements, both earlier and later, are quite unfairly passed over or are forgotten entirely. Such a flaso assessment of John Held Jr. and The Flapper led a recent uninformed critic to write that Held did not deserve to be compared in his own field with the other observer of Flaming Youth, F. Scott Fitzgerald, in his. But he does: Held was an important and uniquely American artist of the first half of our Century....... Large hardcover book in very good condition.
