Illustrated throughout with plates and vignette engravings from E. Vulliermin. Jean de La Brete, the pseudonym of Alice Cherbonnel, born in Saumur in 1858 and died in Breuil-Bellay ( Maine-et-Loire ) in 1945, was a French writer of novels for young women. In a cloth binding with paper-covered boards. Externally, sound, though with some rubbing and a few marks, and some sunning to the rear. Front hinge strained. Internally, generally firmly bound although strained in places. Pages are bright, and generally clean, though with the occasional instance of foxing. Good
