Owner's name in red ink on front endpaper dated 1967. Disaster and death are in store for The City unless the Rescue Squad can find the missing man in order to stop the destruction of The City from a gang of revolutionaries. The Enclyclopedia of SF describes MacLean as an early woman sf writer who in the chauvinistic 50's competed on equal terms - not restricting herself to feminine themes or protaganists, and not often using a male pseudonym.
