New York: Longmans, Green and Co., 1910 Signed by the author. Second edition with additions. - 5 appendices. Beers (1876-1943) was a U.S. founder of mental hygiene. Rebound in green buckram stamped in gold on spine - bookplate on front pastedown is removed. On leaf preceeding half-title page in black pen is "To the President The White House Washington With the compliments of Clifford Whittingham Beers December 29, 1911." no jacket. VG condition. Also included is a 1924 edition published by Doubleday, Page & Company inserted primarily for the nice signed presentation by Beers as the Founder and Secretary of The National Committee for Mental Hygiene, 370 Seventh Avenue, New York City on the flyleaf to the secretary of the Permanent Charity Fund in Boston, Mass. dated Sept. 6, 1924 with black pen. Inscription page is in nice condition - the volume is very worn and shaken otherwise . .
