Gift inscription from the Duchess of Berry, 1822 (Marie-Caroline de Bourbon-Sicile, duchesse de Berry, mother of Henri, Count of Chambord). The Duchess was an Italian princess who married into the royal Bourbon family. The recipients name of the Duchesses has been intentionally removed. Full contemporary leather, gilt ruled. All edges gilt. Some rubbing. Solid binding and cover. Marbled end pages. Unmarked pages. 387 p. Numerous engravings of Arabian scenes.
