About This Item
New York: Random House, 1992. 1st Edition 2nd Printing. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Michener's, epic story/history of Mexico. As Michener does so often, in this wonderful book he shifts the reader from the distant past to present day Mexico, (1992). As is often the case in his books the author starts out with an innocuous story, in this case a journalist doing a story about bull fighting and holds the reader though out a complete history based tale. Book in very fine + condition, with two tiny spots on cover and in fine jacket which is priced($25.00), and has very minor scapes on front fold.. Book is unopened and unmarked.
Synopsis
Mexico is the story of an American journalist who travels to Mexico in 1961 to cover a duel between two great matadors. He gets swept up in the tales of his Mexican ancestory, from the violent and advanced ancient city-states, the goldlust of the conquistadors who invaded, to the revolutionary struggles of modern-day Mexico.
