The Society of Merchant Venturers of the City of Bristol. ** 1ST EDITION, 1975 ** STURDY CLOTH-BOUND HARDCOVER IN FINE DUSTJACKET ** FORMER LIBRARY BOOK ** CLEAN, STAIN-FREE ** TEXT UNMARKED ** ILLUSTRATED EDITION ** Published by The Society of Merchant Venturers of the City of Bristol, 1975, with xviii + 613 pages, several photogaphic plates on glossy paper. NOTE: EX-LIBRARY BOOK, please expect library markings and indicia, but also note it does not appear the book was ever circulated. Aside from the library markings, the book is in Near Fine-to-Fine condition. The only markings on the outside of the book itself are faint stamps to the exterior fore-edge and top page edges, and inside there are only the remnants of a card pocket and a couple of brief stamps on the 1st two pages, but no other library indicia in the book anywhere. The dustjacket has no library markings or stickers at all, and is in a nearly new clear mylar protective cover. Very well-made book, bound in sturdy cloth-covered boards with clean, bright embossed gilt lettering on the spine. The exterior cloth binding is still as crisp and fresh as new. The book is clean and stain-free, square and straight, quite firm and tight in its binding, no pages are loose, missing, folded, or torn. The hinges are sound and undamaged, the corners are sharp and unbumped. All pages are clean and stain-free, and all text is sharp and legible. There is no writing, underlining, highlighting, or any other such markings in the text. The dustjacket is clean and stain-free, complete and intect, no tears, no pieces missing, no edgewear.
