London: William Blackwood, 1926. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed. 9" by 5.5". None stated . The first edition of this uncommon illustrated autobiography by Adela Orpen. The first edition. In the publisher's original cloth. Illustrated with a frontispiece and 2 monochrome photographic illustrations. Collated complete. This work was written by writer Adela Orpen (Mrs Orpen). This autobiographical work tells the story of the author's move to the Kansas prairie after the untimely death of her mother and two siblings, during the time of the Civil War. In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with slight fading to the spine, slight bumping to the extremities and the odd very minor mark. Light offsetting to the endpapers with an old ink inscription to the front free endpaper dated 1926. Internally firmly bound with lightly age toned, clean pages. Very Good Indeed
