About This Item

New York: D. Appleton and Company, 1880. Hardcover. Very Good. Polished calf binding, four raised bands, black spine labels with gilt titles, marbled endpapers. Three volumes complete in one. Translated from the French by Mrs. Cashel Hoey and John Lillie. Preface and notes by her grandson Paul De Remusat. Former owner's name on blank page, leather scuffed at edges, external hinges cracked about two inches but still a very solid and attractive copy.
