Great book on early medieval societies, includes general surveys of the origins and nature of Ottonian government and of the German aristocracy and much more. From the library of Professor Ilene Forsyth, professor emerita and alumna of the University of Michigan and a published author as well. Her husband George Forsyth, was chairman of the art history department at Michigan from 1947 to 1961, when he became director of the university's Kelsey Museum of Archeology. Laid in is a promo for this book torn out from another book/catalog and a German family tree, both with her personal notations. Part of the History Series - Volume 12.
