About This Item

Berkeley CA: Oyez. Very Good+. 1965. First Edition. Softcover. [light handling wear, a touch of fading along top edge of front cover]. A short three-act play by this noted poet and public intellectual (1919-1988), described by him in his introduction as "a play of the young Medea -- I saw her as a pubescent girl -- who falls in love with Jason and betrays her father that Jason may steal the fleece." He relates that he began to write the play at Black Mountain College in North Carolina in 1956, and discusses its evolution from that point on. .
